Give presence and create a tradition by making “love ornaments” with your family, roommates, and/or loved ones. This idea comes from our good friend Karen Brown:“My mom started a tradition several years ago with our family that I look forward to every year. She has an ornament box on the tree for each of the grandkids, and every Christmas she adds a new note to the box. So every year they get to read a new love letter from Meme (grandma) and also get to read the previous year’s notes.”

If you’d like to do this with your family, parents can write to their kids, or husbands and wives can write to each other and place them in the boxes-turned-ornaments.
